ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Volleyball.net is committed to making our platform accessible to all athletes, coaches, and club directors — including those with disabilities. We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
OUR COMMITMENT
We believe every volleyball player deserves access to the tools that help them develop their game. Accessibility is not an afterthought — it is part of how we build. We are continuously improving the platform to remove barriers and ensure that all users can access PACE assessments, training resources, and coaching tools.
VISUAL ACCESSIBILITY
- Color contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA standards (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- All images include descriptive alt text for screen reader users
- Decorative images are marked with empty alt attributes (aria-hidden)
- The platform does not rely on color alone to convey information
KEYBOARD AND NAVIGATION ACCESSIBILITY
- All interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields) are keyboard accessible
- Visible focus indicators are present on all focusable elements
- Skip-to-main-content links are available for keyboard users
- Navigation menus are operable with keyboard and screen readers
- The PACE assessment can be completed entirely with keyboard navigation
SCREEN READER SUPPORT
- Semantic HTML is used throughout the platform (headings, landmarks, lists)
- ARIA labels and roles are applied to complex interactive components
- Form inputs have associated labels
- Error messages are announced to screen readers
- Dynamic content updates use ARIA live regions where appropriate
MOBILE ACCESSIBILITY
- Touch targets are at least 44x44 pixels for easy tapping
- The platform is fully responsive and usable on all screen sizes
- Pinch-to-zoom is not disabled
- Content reflows properly at 320px width without horizontal scrolling
KNOWN LIMITATIONS
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas of the platform are still being improved:
- Some older PDF resources may not be fully accessible to screen readers — we are working to remediate these
- Complex data visualizations (PACE radar charts) include text alternatives but may not be fully accessible to all screen readers
- Some third-party embedded content may not meet our accessibility standards
Ongoing Improvements
We conduct regular accessibility audits and prioritize fixes in each development cycle. Our target is full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across all platform features.
